Wealdstone 2 – 1 Forest Green Rovers

Forest Green were defeated on the road after an Alex Reid brace gave Wealdstone all three points winning 2-1 at Grosvenor Vale.

Jordon Garrick had given Rovers the lead in the first half but the Stones fought back with a penalty before the break and a second half winner.

Manager Steve Cotterill named an unchanged squad to the side that beat Solihull Moors 1-0 last weekend.

Doidge almost opened the scoring in the early stages but his deft effort was cleared off the line following Kyle McAllister’s cross-field pass.

Adam May then rattled the crossbar from 25 yards from a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Garrick gave Rovers a deserved lead after 19 minutes after his right-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area nestled into the far corner past Wealdstone goalkeeper Dante-Astor Baptiste.

Forest Green were forced to go into the break on level terms following a shout for handball given against defender Ryan Inniss. Reid slotted the penalty down the middle past Rovers ‘keeper Ted Cann.

Tyler Walker almost gave the hosts the lead in the second half but his effort whistled past Cann’s post.

Reid gave Wealdstone the lead in the 81st minute after he latched onto the ball over the top and found the bottom corner.
