Braintree journeyed around the M25 to Wealdstone on Wednesday evening and saw another potential three point haul slip away.

Sam Ashford put the Middlesex side ahead after just ten minutes but Iron responded positively with two goals in quick succession to take the initiative. Louie Annesley’s flick from a free kick levelling the scores after 13 minutes and Callum Powell intercepted a poor cross field ball to place his shot into an unguarded net putting Braintree ahead three minutes later.

Iron remained ahead until ten minutes after the break, when Alex Reid levelled for the home side and a second from Ashford mid-way through the second half earned Wealdstone only their second win of the season.

Next up for Iron is this coming Saturday afternoon 26th October and another Vanarama National League fixture at home to Sutton United, with kick-off at 3pm.
