Wealdstone 0 – 4 Yeading

WEALDSTONE exited the Middlesex Senior Cup with barely a wimper last Wedsnesday. The competition fails to excite the viewing public and both sets of players seemed to regard it with the same lack of emotion.
Yeading were simply better at going through the motions.
After 37 minutes of little action the deadlock of sorts was broken. A cross from the left was not dealt with and after a couple of poor attempts at getting the ball clear Perfect drilled the ball into the top of the net from the edge of the box.
As in the recent league match ex-Stone Morgan was again ineffective and fluffed a sitter as early as the second minute, failing to make proper contact in front of an open goal. Top scorer Campbell replaced him at half-time. This made all the difference and in a one sided second half Campbell scored twice, rounding Carter on both occasions. as defenders seemed to have disappeared. The other goal was thumped in by substitute Hall again exposing a deficiency in the centre of the Stones back line.
Wealdstone had an occasional flurry around the Yeading goal but nothing of any real consequence. A game best forgotten.
