The match was played with cup-tie fervor in front of a crowd of around 70. Staines were the busier team in the first half as both sides battled strongly in midfield top break down their opponents and the second half followed a much similar vein with Stones slightly on top until the closing stages.
The only goal cam in the 83rd minute when Jon Henry-Hayden rode challenges from Martin Carter and Billy Amartiefio before hitting an excellent shot from 25 yards into the top corner of the net.
A goal that was possibly a little harsh on Stones as the match seemed destined for extra time, but it was no surprise that a goal of this type would be the difference and neither goalkeeper had anything more than a half chance to deal with beforehand.
