Wealdstone held third placed Woking to a draw at Kingfield Stadium after a Max Kretzschmar penalty cancelled out a Marcus Dackers header.

Brooklyn Ilunga had the Stones’ best chance inside the first ten minutes, but his header went well wide.

Three saves from Woking keeper Will Jaaskelainen kept the Stones at bay, with Ashley Charles denied by the Finn, before Brooklyn Ilunga and Olufela Olomola forced further saves.

Woking took the lead against the run of play on 28 minutes. Luke Wilkinson found Dackers unmarked at the back post.

The Stones dominated possession, but were unable to make it count before the referee could blow for half time.

Woking began to take control of the game in the second half, with Kyran Lofthouse forcing a good save from Sam Howes in the Wealdstone net, but the Stones never looked out of the game.

And they had their reward with 77 minutes gone, after Kretzschmar smartly turned Scott Cuthbert before being fouled, with the referee pointing to the spot almost instantly.

The former Woking midfielder dispatched the penalty into the top right hand corner to equalise and celebrated in front of the 329 travelling Wealdstone fans.

Several corners and free kicks were cleared away by both sides before the full time whistle, as Stuart Maynard and his side reflected on a productive week, in which they went away to third and fifth place in the league and picked up two 1-1 draws.

They will now have to dust themselves down for a long trip to the Shay to face FC Halifax Town on Tuesday night.

WEALDSTONE: Howes, Barker, Cook (c) (Barrett 65), Freckleton, Habergham, Charles, Dyer, Kretzschmar, Ilunga, Allarakhia (Obiero 65), Olomola (Ferguson 82). Subs not used: McGregor, Hutchinson.
