WealdstoneOur final pre-season friendly ended Beaconsfield SYCOB 2 Wealdstone 3.
Stephen Hughes headed us in front after 2 minutes and Charlie Mpi made it 2-0 two minutes into the second half. The home team drew level with a penalty and a close range shot before Ben Alexander scored our winner with about 15 minutes remaining.
Two former Stones were in the Beaconsfield side, Dean Clark who scored the penalty into the top left hand corner of Sean’s goal, and James Duncan. Sean played for about an hour before being replaced by Sam Beadle with the score 2-1 in our favour.
Stephen Hughes, who scored with a great header, was replaced after about 30 minutes when he stubbed his foot in the long grass. Fortunately it wasn’t the leg that had sidelined him for such a long time and hopefully not lasting damage was done.
One interesting spectator was Dean Papali who told me he has now joined Burnham.
