Someone cracked that it was the first time for two years Wealdstone had won consecutive matches, but that is the spirit starting to build in the ‘new’ Wealdstone squad after another friendly win, this time over a Hayes side featuring half a dozen of last years Conference team, a few squad players and a few trialists from pro clubs.

Wealdstone fielded a strong side, all be it with a few trialists of their own and were well worth their 2 – 0 win.

Goals from Charlie Mapes and Ricky Pither at the end of each half were enough, both though were made by Marvin Morgan as players followed up on his shots to ensure the score.
