WealdstoneA useful run out for the Stones squad players this evening saw them achieve a 2 – 1 win away to Chalfont St Peter.
It was a good opportunity to see the players perform on a difficult uneven pitch, against a more organised. No goals in the first half but ten minutes into the second, Stones took the lead when a low cross after a good run by Tony Callaghan saw a defender volley home from six yards giving his ‘keeper no chance.
Five minutes later, Gulad Adan was harshly adjudged to have fouled in the box, while having his shirt pulled, and the home side equalised from the penalty.
Pressure from the Stones resulted in them being awarded a penalty late on when Dave Ryan was fouled and Gulad made amends with a good strike to give Stones the win by 2 – 1.
