On Tuesday a strong stones side travelled to face a full strength Boreham Wood side, and despite going two goals behind in 15 minutes, both through a little naivety at the back, Stones battled back well to gain a creditable draw and to dominate the game for long periods.

Stones goals were scored by Charlie Mapes with a superb free kick, curled over the wall leaving Noel Imber stranded in the ‘wood goal, and the second a volley from Mickie Swaysland on the edge of the box, hitting the ball first time on the run.
