Whyteleafe 1 – 2 Wealdstone
1 - 2
Leafe fall
A good start from Stones saw them take the lead on 6 minutes when Swaysland ran on to a Scarlett through ball and slotted home to give Wealdstone an early lead. They should really have increased their lead before Whyteleafe got into their stride, but Swaysland, Morgan and Scarlett all saw chances go begging.
As the half progressed, the home side got a little more into the game and an even tussle saw the score remain at 0 – 1 for the rest of the half.
the second half started with Stones quieter and Whyteleafe pressing, scoring an equaliser on 52 minutes, but this seemed to kick start Stones and they again came more to the fore without creating a clear chance, Whyteleafe forced to attack on the break. It was the home side that should have increased their tally as twice they managed to create chances, on both occasions the finish beat the goalkeeper and the goal, then on 78 minutes Morgan chased down a long ball and beat of the challenge of Arkwright.
He cut inside the penalty box at the bye line and then improved his angle before shooting low and hard inside the post to give Stones a 2 – 1 lead. The remainder of the match was even with both sides creating a couple of half chances, but with no further scoring it was Wealdstone that came away with the points.
