Wealdstone 4 – 0 Rusilip Manor

4 - 0
First half the teams were pretty even. Had a few chances but Ruislip had the best of the missed chances when their pacey forward went through 1 on 1, and Carter made a smart save to his left. Ben scored just before the interval. He wriggled through 3 defenders using his strength to beat them and just clipped the ball over the on-coming keeper. other than that it was non descript as far as the Stones were concerned. Second half however was a different story.
We totally dominated. Fitness told and Ruislip had no answer. Carter wasn’t tested at all. Jermaine scored early on, he did not give up after he saw his initial shot parried by the keeper for a tap in. Unfortunately he went of shortly after that with what looked like a pulled hamstring.
The third goal was a simple tap in by Jolly after the impressive McKeown’s long range thunderous shot was again parried by the keeper. Marvin rounded the scoring off with another tap in near the end. Second half we where not tested and it was a cake walk really, but I hope we get some confidence out of this win if nothing else. Northwood in the semis next week apparently, lets see if we can at least salvage something out of this disastrous season.

With a 4-0 scoreline it could be said that this was achieved.
But for the first half hour it was Ruislip who looked the likely victors as they time and again exposed the lack of pace in the Wealdstone defence, only for wild finishing and the goalkeeping of Andy Carter to keep the game scoreless.
Gordon, twice, Leslie and Hills could easily have given Ruislip an unexpected lead in this period where Wealdstone only had a wild shot over the bar by Beckford to name as a goal-scoring opportunity.
But once Ben Alexander’s deflected shot on 40 minutes from Martin Carter’s clever pass had given Wealdstone the lead there was only going to be one winner.
Upping the pace in the second half, Wealdstone suddenly completely dominated. Numerous chances were deflected, blocked, saved, or off target.
All the three goals had a similar feel. On each occasion a shot was saved or blocked in the box and a Wealdstone player was in the right place to score from close-in. After 54 minutes Jermaine Beckford scored after Richar
