Wealdstone 3 -0 Northwood

3 - 0
A bright start from Stones saw them take the game to their opponents from the off, with Marvin Morgan creating havoc with his pace up front, both he and Mickie Swaysland having early chances before a Swaysland cross was headed onto the bar by Dave Ryan on ten minutes.
The first goal came on 26 minutes when a wide ball into space from Martin Carter was chased fully 40 yards by Morgan, who made up ten yards on the defender to win the ball. He cut inside and crossed deep to the back of the six yard box where Mickie Swaysland found himself alone to place his header past Bullivant to give Stones the lead.
Five minutes later and Morgan again chased down a long ball, beating his marker and as he made his way into the penalty box he was fouled from behind by Craft who, to the letter of the law if somewhat harsh was sent off. Up stepped Mick Swaysland again to score Stones second from the penalty spot.
Much as stones continued to press forward, they also had to defend as Northwood too pressed forward and two excellent saves from Andy Carter saw the score remain 2 -0 at half time.
Stones continued to play well, but failed to exploit their one man advantage, although Morgan was again to feature as on 55 minutes, he collected the ball midway in the Northwood half. he beat three defenders as he strode into the penalty box, finishing the move with a great shot to make the score 3 – 0.
Northwood to their credit continued to press when the opportunity arose, Andy Carter again, and the returning Danny White on the goal line preventing the visitors from scoring as Stones ran out winners by 3 – 0 in a game that was not as easy as the score line suggests.
