Wealdstone 1 – 3 Thame Utd
1 - 3
Magic moment !
But not, unfortunately for Wealdstone!
This game had 0 – 0 written all over it for the first hour, although Stones wee unlucky, twice Andre Scarlett saw shots tipped over by the visiting keeper in the first half but Thame’s sole attempt on goal was a Fergus Moore header, defending a corner when he hit the bar.
The second half started in similar vein until in the 62nd minute, a great ball through from Carter released Morgan on the edge of the area, his control took him into the box where, under pressure from the defender he shot low past the goalkeeper into the far corner to give Stones the lead.
It was only to last a minute though as Thame’s magic moment took over. Galvanized into action by the Stones goal, they broke down the left and the ball broke to Perna whose first time shot flew into the far corner of the net for the equaliser.
Thirty seconds later, a similar break saw a similar ball inside to Louis, who muscled Tucker off the ball before he hit a sweet curling shot into the same corner before Carter in the Stones goal had moved.
The game then settled down to an even tussle, both sides creating chances, Swaysland and Morgan going close for Stones before on 79 minutes, a break down the right brought the third goal – a diving header into the far corner of the net from a low cross, but the unfortunate scorer was Wealdstone’s Kevin Ramsay, on as a substitute.
Stones performance was flat compared to recent weeks, and Thame showed little to impress other than their goals as both sides play out the remaining weeks of the season…

Stones Thame-d…..
FOR an hour this scrappy match was a near certainty to be Wealdstone’s first goalless game of the season, writes Steve Paull.
The first half had only four real moments of goalmouth action.
Andre Scarlett drew a decent tip over save out of the keeper, Foster, early on, then another full length save later, plus Joel Marie-Sainte fired a volley just wide on half-time.
The visitors, seeming to show a lack of interest in trying to score, had only one moment when they almost netted, but that was when Fergus Moore for some reason back headed a corner towards his own goalkeeper. Andy Carter scrambled the ball over the bar.
The second half started a bit more lively it couldn’t get much worse.
Carter had to save at the feet of Louis, Marvin Morgan fired wide for Stones and striker Mick Swaysland was unlucky to have his diving header hit a defender.
On the hour the deadlock was broken when Wealdstone took the lead. Danny Tilbury fed Morgan whose left foot shot across Foster found the far corner.
All this did was give Thame a wake up call and within three minutes they had scored twice with two very similar goals rising 25 yard strikes into the top corner, one each for Perna and Louis.
The visitors could have scored again moments later, when a header from West hit a post.
This stunned Stones and for a few minutes they were in a defensive panic, but the game soon reverted to type.
As the supporters wondered whether an equaliser could be fashioned from somewhere, it all became academic as Kevin Ramsay, 10 minutes from time, unfortunately misdirected a header from a right wing cross from Perna past Carter to secure the points for the away side.
Wealdstone: A Carter, Bryson(Ramsay), Tucker, Moore, Horner (Bamgbola), Scarlett (Hunt), Marie-Sainte, M Carter, Swaysland, Morgan, Tilbury.
