Wealdstone 1 – 3 Dulwich Hamlet
1 - 3
Been here before…
On a number of occasions this season Wealdstone have not get the result their performance possibly deserved, but they have got the result their defence deserved, and this was another. With four new faces in the starting line up, Stones took a little while to settle but once they did they created the better of the opening chances, Hammatt, Swaysland and Scarlet going close early on, although Dulwich looked dangerous on the break.
Stones though took a deserved lead on 30, when good work from the midfield saw a cross pulled back which Swaysland left for Shaw to hammer in from 25 yards. Ten minutes later, and Stones defence became its worst enemy once again. A corner coming in from the left was misjudged by Horner, his header towards goal all but beat the despairing grasp from Carte and settled in the net to give the visitors a share of the spoils at half time.
The second half again saw Stones create chances that they failed to put away, Hammatt, Swaysland, Shaw and Reeve could all have scored on another day, and Fergus Moore was also unlucky with headers from two corners, but it wasn’t good enough as defensive frailty allowed Dulwich to take the lead on 65 minutes.
A Reeve cross was blocked in the Dulwich area, John Deadman having pushed on to leave the defence exposed, as the ball broke Ramsay put in an excellent challenge but did not win the ball cleanly and it broke again to a Dulwich forward who released Stevens to run on goal. Deadman’s challenge was unsuccessful and although Andy Carter made an excellent block from the 1 on 1 the ball span high in the air, falling in front of the back tracking Shaw who could only watch as it spun sideways back to Stevens who shot home.
Dulwich were then put under pressure by a Stones teams searching for an equaliser but it wasn’t to be as on 88 minutes Dulwich broke again, and three blocks in their own area were not good enough to see the ball cleared as Stones went 1 – 3 down to Endersby’s shot.

Wealdstone 1 Dulwich Hamlet 3
STILL no change in fortunes for Wealdstone despite the three new faces and an old one returning, writes Steve Paull.
Mick Swaysland, in his third spell at the club, almost made an early impact, with a goalbound header acrobatically tipped over by visiting keeper Mercer.
Stones did, however, take the lead on the half hour. John Deadman wriggled past two tackles and laid the ball back for Jason Shaw to fire a low 20 yard shot past Mercer.
That lead lasted until just before half time when Richard Horner headed into his own goal.
After half time two isolated breakaways led to the two goals that sealed the result. Dave Stevens put the visitors ahead.
The decisive goal came three minutes from time.
Horner failed to find touch with a sliding interception, once again covering defenders were in short supply, Francis Quarm ran down the wing and crossed for Declan Perkins to finish for Dulwich to take the points.
Wealdstone: Carter, Deadman (Morgan), F Moore, Ramsay, Horner, Scarlett, Drahe (Reeve), Shaw, Swaysland, Hammatt, K Moore (Pither)
