Wealdstone 1 – 2 Chelmsford City
1 - 2
Stones had an even share of a hard fought match against Chelmsford City, but with missing players in midfield created little service for the front two, while at the back, the frailties again reared their heads as mistakes cost the two goals.
A full report will follow though from what i understand it was a fairly tight match with neither side giving anything away first half. Chelmsford took the lead on 47 minutes when Moralee scored, a poor Stones clearance having been collected and slotted through to give him an easy opportunity against Jackson.
Stones continued to battle but created little as Jolly and Beckford were both well marshalled by the visiting defence and Stones midfield lacked the creativity to break down their opposition, but Stones did equalise on 86 minutes when Turner shot home from 20 yards through a crowded box.
With Stones looking to take a point however a missed clearance and a poor challenge resulted in a free kick to the visitors on the edge of the box and Tony Boot found the top corner past the despairing grasp of Jackson in the Stones net.
