The see-saw performances were set to continue today as Wealdstone struggled to get going in the early stages against Harlow, and the visitors took the lead on 11 minutes when a shot from Niven was deflected. Andy Carter tried to collect the ball rather than to push it away, but after the deflection only succeeded in pushing the ball into the net.

Stones continued to struggle in the first half hour, although they did begin to get into their stride and were unlucky not to equalise when a twenty five yard free kick from Dave Ryan came back into play off the underside of the bar. Morgan and Swaysland with a header were also unlucky not to bring Stones back onto level terms.

Stones did equalise from another free kick, Mapes finding Swaysland who headed home on 38 minutes.

three minutes later and a tussle on the goal line as players jostled for position saw Courtnage knocked down. The referee saw Frendo strike him on the back of his head and the visiting forward was sent off, but Stones could not make the advantage count before half time.

The second half saw Stones force Harlow back but their midfield and defence worked hard to limit the chances and they maintained the status quo. Stones should have scored from another Mapes free kick, as with the ball loose in the six yard box, Fisher and Morgan both saw efforts come back of the post, Wealdstone struggling to make their dominance of possession count.

Harlow’s ranks were reduced still further on 74 minutes when a foul on Hercules saw Cowley get his second yellow card, but despite changes, Wealdstone could not find the winning goal, Morgan and Beckford having the best chances but it was not to be and the points were shared.
