Wealdstone 1 – 1 Harlow Town
1 - 1
Matches against Harlow are rarely pretty, and rarely do Wealdstone ever get anything out of them.
I suppose then you have to be happy with the draw, but the match really was end of season stuff, neither side having a useful or memorable goal attempt in a dour first 45 minutes.
The second half at least offered some entertainment, Stone scoring an excellent goal on 57 minutes. Morgan headed on a long ball from Carter, chased it down himself and beat his man to square a lovely pass into the path of the onrushing Danny Tilbury who drove home from 12 yards.
As last week with Thame, this sparked the visitors into a little bit of life, but there equaliser on 65 minutes was a catalogue of errors as Scarlet missed a tackle on halfway. The ball was put out for a throw in which Stones watched rather than defended, and then as a low cross was sent in both Andy Carter and Fergus Moore seemed to hesitate, both expecting he other to claim the ball, allowing Youngs to tuck it away from close range.
Both sides had chances to win the match, Harlow coming closest with a header off the bar, but there was little to cheer the 290 fans present.
