Wealdstone 0 – 2 Cheshunt

Those that stayed away missed nothing for a hour, and to be honest little thereafter. Stones had the only two efforts on goal in the first half – a Gooderick free kick the keeper saved and a Fergus Moore header that he dealt with in a non-descript 45 minutes between two poor sides.
The second half was similar from the start until on 67 minutes, Lee Carroll appeared to slip as he went to collect a crossshot, half hit from the edge of the area and the ball nestled in the corner of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
For the remainder of the half little changed other than personnel, though Gooderick again saw an attempt saved by the keepers legs, before on 90 minutes sub Clark broke free to round Carroll and score Cheshunt’s second goal.
It was only the league cup, and it was a changed side, but the performance and the result were simply not good enough.
