A far better performance all round as Stones got their first win of the season with a solid workmanlike performance away to Tilbury.

Stones started a little bit edgy, but as the half progressed took greater control of Proceedings and forced Tilbury to defend in numbers, Williams, Carter and Morgan all going close early on.

Tilbury broke forward on occasion as well, but the Stones defence dealt capably with all their opponents could throw at them, Andy Carter again in great form with two excellent saves as Tilbury did break through.

Most people in the ground thought Wealdstone had taken the lead on 40 minutes when a long shot from Williams was spilled by the home keeper, Martin Carter reacting first to put the ball in the net, only for the linesman to rule offside, to general surprise.

The second half saw Stones dominance increase until on 68 minutes, Williams intercepted the ball in midfield, his pass out wide releasing Jolly, and he slid the ball into the path of Marvin Morgan who scored from just inside the box.

stones continued to force Tilbury back – their only efforts coming from breakaways – until on 85 minutes, Williams again collected the ball on the edge of the box. He shot into the corner of the goal to give Stones a deserved 2 – 0 win
