With little addition to Saturday’s side and Stones fairly consistent record of conceding four goals at Thame, it wasn’t likely to be Stones night.

When Mickie Swaysland injured a knee in the warm up and had to withdraw, Tyronne Hercules unable to get away from work and Jermaine struggling with a damaged toe (Marvin was also out with a hip injury) it didn’t look good.

Two minutes into the game when Robin Tucker also pulled a hamstring! This just about summed up the night. Thame scored first when they broke from defence – Gulad Adfan was caught wrong side of his man and eventually brought him down in a challenge for a penalty which a number of people thought was harsh, duly despatched on 15 minutes.

A minute later and a square defence was caught out again – with Andy Carter expecting a back pass, Jones nipped in and lobbed Thame’s second goal from twenty five yards, but at least at this point Stones started to play a little.

excellent work and battling from Richard Jolly allowed him to pull one back on 35 minutes, and as half time approached, it was Wealdstone that looked more likely to score again.

Even at the start of the second half, Stones pressured the home side searching for an equaliser, but little was created in front of goal. On 68 minutes, Mark West scored (as usual), after an excellent save from Carter, West reacted first to snap up the rebound.

Again Stones pressed but with little effect until on 88 minutes Thame scored their fourth (also as usual) Keen scoring on the break from a throw.

Matt Perry though was able to pull one back in the 90th minute from the penalty spot, given after nothing more than an obstruction by the Thame defender.
