A very mixed performance from Wealdstone who made hard work of beating a poor looking Oxford team.
First half saw us completely dominate and should have gone in with a 3 or 4 goal lead. Instead we had to be content with 2 goals, the first a poke in from Duncan (9 mins) after Jolly’s header had hit the bar, the second, a free run at goal from the halfway line by Marvin on 34 minutes, who made no mistake with his finish.
Second half saw us come out totally asleep and it was no surprise when they grabbed one back on 59 mins after suspect defending and goalkeeping. Thankfully Carter was otherwise in good form and made a number of good saves to keep them out.
The clearly struggling Marvin went off and was replaced by Alexander who played a large part in our third, running strongly down the right and putting in a perfect ball for Jolly to fire home from close range on 77 minutes.
Both teams had a number of half chances but the score line remained 3-1, another win for Wealdstone.
