Dejected, Defeated...

Games like today make this very very hard.

After an excellent performance in midweek, Stones fans were brought down to earth with a bang at Northwood, where the home side hustled and harried and Wealdstone simply couldn’t cope.

The match itself was poor with little to impress from either side, but credit to Northwood who took their chances to secure the win.

Stones conceded the first goal when a short back pass from Amarteifio was intercepted by Yaku, who rounded Watts to score on 29 minutes, and although there was little else in the half, Watts did make one excellent save pushing the ball o to the post from a cross come shot.

In the second half Stones played with a little more fire, and scrambled an equaliser from Reeve, from a corner on 48 minutes, only to concede a corner and a free header to allow Northwood to take the lead again two minutes later.

Although Stone s battled they never threatened with more than a half chance and their fate was sealed on 74 minutes when Watts slipped and passed to sub Fitzgerald who curled in the third from 25 yards.

A disappointing day, made worse at the end when Northwood players chose to bait the Stones fans as they left the field, one at least spitting at the visiting supporters who were by no means blameless.

Honest Opinion?  Defensive mistakes and a lack of will to win.

Wealdstone: Watts, Joyce, Norman (s45 Domi), Amarteifio, Reeve (48), Burgess, Carter, Jones, Morgan (s75 Tucker), Leenders (s45 Lamb b74), Tilbury
