Leatherhead 1 – 0 Wealdstone
1 - 0
Not worthy of description just about sums this one up.
Stones were poor, tired and laboured from the start, and just to ensure the crowd was enthralled, so were Leatherhead. There was so little to report in the first half, that’s its almost not worth the bother but that would be unfair on leatherhead who at least had a couple of half chances in the first few minutes, and harried and hustled from the start, not letting Stones settle on a hard pitch.
The second half was played in similar vein, the breakthrough coming on the hour when a good cross from the right was headed home well from the edge of the six yard box, eventually to give Leatherhead the points.
Stones in fact failed to have an effort on target until the 84tyh minute when Reeve hit the bar with a header from a corner and the only other point of note was a Tilbury shot, deflected wide on 89 minutes.
Honest Opinion? Judged over the two games, Football itself should be grateful that it is very unlikely these two teams will meet in the league next season..
