EVEN without two suspended strikers, Marvin Morgan and Ben Alexander, and the unavailable first-choice keeper Andy Carter, Stones thrashed Enfield 8-0 on Saturday.

All the goals came in the second half, with substitute Jermaine Beckford scoring three in nine minutes.

The visitors’ first direct shot on goal came on the half hour when a Tommy Williams free-kick went straight in the hands of Collier. Faulkner had a chance to put the home side ahead as he turned well but his shot was well saved by stand in keeper Charlie Leary.

This first-half performance certainly did not give any indication of what was to follow.

Three minutes after the break, a Danny Butler free-kick was touched on by Richard Jolly for Danny Tilbury to fire home and this lead to a goal avalanche.

Two minutes later, a fine 20-yard shot from Gary McKeown beat Collier for the goal of the game.

Richard Jolly made it 3-0 in the 65th minute from a Tommy Williams pass, and was then substituted by Jermaine Beckford.

Danny Tilbury turned in a Williams free-kick at the far post for the fourth goal, then Williams himself scored when his shot beat Collier.

In the 77th minute, a Danny Tilbury cross was fired home by sub Beckford to make it 6-0.

Play was then held up for three minutes as Enfield’s keeper had to be stretchered off after colliding with Tilbury.

Young Lee Holland from the successful under-18s team then came off the bench for his league debut and did well.

Matt Carvell put fellow sub Jermaine Beckford through to slot home past replacement keeper Munn in the 84th minute and two minutes later completed his hat-trick.
