Landlords Beaten…
A Wealdstone first team that were a little bit off the boil tonight still did enough to beat their Landlords Edgware Town FC 1-0 in another Pre-season friendly.
The best side available, albeit missing six players expected to figure this season, Stones had a poor first half and seemed a little disjoined, although they were never really under any pressure from Edgware Town, the Stones defence coping with everything that came their way. In midfield, Stones looked stronger and more capable but Edgware played some good football, possibly slightly lacking a finisher and sharpness in the final third.
The Stones goal came on 31 minutes, Brian Hammett again put through for a 1 on 1 with the keeper and for the second match in succession he rounded his opponent to score.
The second half saw Stones start a little brighter before a number of substitutions disrupted the match and the flow still further.
Wealdstone: Andy Carter, Tom Bryson (s60 Matt Perry), Fergus Moore, Billy Amarteifio, Shayne Chandler (s75 Jamie Burgess), Vinny Somers (s75 Tom Hoop), Richard McDonnagh, Jason Shaw, Victor Asombang (s60 Ricky Pither), Bryan Hammett (31), Danny Tilbury (s75 Jamie Kelly)
