After a disappointing Sunday afternoon, tonight’s replay promised more as Stones opened brightly, Beckford seeing a shot well saved in the first minute.

It was a much changed Stones side due to injuries, and possible wasn’t as cohesive early on, but Stones were on top for much of the first half, still lacking a good final ball to cause the home side problems.

Banstead, similar to Sunday were limited to long range efforts, none troubling Carter in the Stones goal, and Dave Ryan and Matt Carvell played solidly in defence.

The second half followed a similar pattern to Sunday as neither side could break down their opponents although again Stones had the better efforts, Tilbury and Swaysland seeing shot wide or high of the goal.

Extra time started brightly for Stones as they had three good attempts in a matter of two minutes, Beckford going close and another shot rebounding off the post after Hercules broke to the bye line once again, but still no-one could score.

The second half was little better as most people seemed resolved to penalties, but with five minutes to go sub Gulad Adan broke down the right wing and his inch perfect cross was met well by Beckford who headed the only goal from six yards.
