Report – Wealdstone 0 – 3 Slough Town
0 - 3
In-form Rebels were too strong for Wealdstone in this Boxing Day fixture and went ahead with just 11 minutes on the clock thanks to a Ben Harris penalty. The Rebels’ striker was brought down in the box following a Scott Harris free-kick. Referee Jack Packman pointed to the spot and Harris made no mistake by sending Jonathan North the wrong way for a 1-0 lead.
The visitors’ increased their lead just four minutes later when a Davies corner was nodded back across the area by Guy Hollis where Mark Nisbett was on hand to get a touch and place the ball in the net. The visitors were very much in control as Harris and Flood went close, Davies was denied by a fine North save while Togwell had a shot blocked, visiting keeper Jack Turner was rarely troubled but had to be alert to make a smart save at the other end to deny midfielder Lench.
HT 0-2
The visitors immediately scored a third goal to kill the game off. Another corner which Hollis rose above his marker to power a header past North in the home goal. Stones never gave up and created three good chances to get back into the game, first Jeffrey Monakaka tested the visiting keeper from distance then former Rebels player Lench was played in on a one on one situation which Turner thwarted, then Alexander Samizadeh tested Turner. The visitors almost added a fourth late on, but North got down well to hold an effort from substitute Louie Soares.
