Preview – Billericay Town – 24 Feb – KO15:00

We travel to  AGP Arena, home of Billericay Town for a Buildbase FA Trophy Quarter Round tie this Saturday (24 Feb) kick-off 15:00.

Our hosts are presently leading the Bostik Isthmian Premier League and earlier in the week they progressed to the Final of the ‘Velocity’ League Cup with a 3-1 win AT HOME over Corinthian  Casuals in front of a crowd of 442. Last night (Wed) they suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Folkstone Invicta.

In the Buildbase FA Trophy they entered the competition at the end of October in the 1st Qualifying Round with a 3-1 home win over Tooting & Mitcham Utd. In the 2nd Qualifying Round they beat Bury Town 6-2 at home and in the 3rd Qualifying Round they won 2-0 at Hungerford Town. In the 1st Round Proper they defeated Havant and Waterlooville 3-1 at home and Stourbridge 3-2 in a 2nd Round tie, again at home. The 3rd Round saw them drawn away at Harrogate Town where they played out a 2-2 draw before winning the replay 3-2.

The Stones management team and squad will be looking to bounce back from the last three results which have ended in narrow defeats. Much will depend on the the match-day game plan that Stones deploy on what looks to be quite a ‘tired & worn’ playing surface. As ever, get behind the lads from the off, make plenty of noise and offer encouragement throughout the 90+ minutes as a place in the Semi-Finals of the Buildbase FA Trophy awaits the winners of this tie.

Please note there are no cash turnstiles in operation at the AGP Arena.  Match day tickets are purchased from the Tick Box Office just outside the ground which will be open from Noon. Please make sure you arrive early to be able to purchase your ticket and enter the ground in time for kick-off. Our hosts also offer an  on-line ticket facility which can be accessed via this LINK for those who wish to purchase a ticket ahead of match day (this facility is open until 20:00 on Friday 23 Feb).

Should Saturday’s game finish all square the replay will take place at The Vale on Tuesday 27 February, kick-off 19:45 with admission charges to the game at £13 Adults, £9 Concession (over 65 & students with ID) and £3 for U18s. ALL Pay
