Wealdstone again struggled against a side placed lower down in the pyramid despite a much improved display in the second half of this hastily re-arranged friendly fixture. Whilst Stones were the underdogs against Leyton Orient when they showed some real bite and quality it could be said that the opposite was the case against Biggleswade last Saturday and most recently Egham on a sultry evening at The Vale on Tuesday.

Stones again conceded very early on with a defensive mix up and that seemed to unsettle them as Egham belied their status with some strong and astute attacking play. Stones eventually drew level through a fine strike from Johnny Wright after excellent work from the busy Elliot Benyon

But Egham pressed forward with pace and re-took the lead through Wesley Daly on 65 minutes from a perfectly executed free kick that whistled past trialist Stones keeper Harry Doherty.

Wealdstone pulled back again with a great snap shot from sub Sahr Kabba but then almost immediately conceded from a quick break down the slope with what proved to be the visitors winner from Chris Henry

Much work to be done before the big kick-off!

Wealdstone: Doherty, Urquhart, Brown, Parker, Oshodi, Godfrey, Wright, Cain, Benyon, Green, Rose. Subs:  Smith, Cadmore, Marek, Wellard, Wanadio, Kabba, Hutchinson (all used)
