Preview – Wingate & Finchley – The Vale – Sat 10 Dec

We welcome Ryman Premier side Wingate & Finchley to The Vale this coming  Saturday (10 Dec)  in a Buildbase 1st Round FA Trophy tie kick-off 15:00.

Our visitors are presently sitting in 14th place in the Ryman Premier on 26 points from 18 8ames played having won 8, drawn 2 and lost 8, scoring 26 and conceding 27 goals. Last Saturday they went down 1-2 at Lowestoft Town. In the Trophy 3QR they saw off Slough Town 4-2 away from home, having previously defeated Ware and Grays Athletic  2-0 in both games, the latter after a 1-1 draw.

The Stones management team and squad will be looking to build on the most recent performances versus Maidenhead Utd in the Trophy and the League encounter with East Thurrock Utd last Saturday. Nothing can be taken for granted and we will need to be at our best  as our opponents will also be looking to progress in the Trophy at the first time of asking.

Match day Admission: Adults – £13, Concession – £8, Under 18s – £3 – ALL Pay.

Our normal Premiership/Championship Season Ticket/Armed Services entry deal does not apply  to this game.

If a replay is necessary this will take place on Tuesday 13 December at Summers Lane, Finchley N12 0PD kick-off 19:45. Admission prices:  Adults £12, Concession £ 6 and U16s£ 3

Please note, pay on the day (cash) entry to the ground is through turnstile’s 1 to 3, turnstile 4 is for ticket holders & official passes (players, scout, complementary etc.)  No entry to the stadium will be allowed through the metal gates except for suitably badged individuals so please allow plenty of time to get into the ground  prior to kick-off.

Parking at the stadium is now limited to Players, Officials and sponsors only. Please park in the side streets near to the ground but please do not block driveways or access for emergency vehicles, especially within Grosvenor Vale and Cranley Drive.   Alternatively, use  one of the  pay & display car parks which are within 10–12 minutes walk of  the stadium (see map HERE for assistance). Please be aware the Local Hillingdon Traffic Enforcement Department will be out and about and if you happen to park your vehicle inappropriately in the one of the side streets you are likely to get a ticket. You have been warned

Public Transport – Met Line service  should be operating as normal to Ruislip Manor or Ruislip (Piccadilly Line is presently suffering delays due to a shortage of serviceable rolling stock).  The Central Line will also be running a normal service (alight at Ruislip Gardens and then a 12-15 minute walk to the ground or cross the road and catch the  E7 bus towards Ruislip) – Check TfL website for latest info HERE

The Ruislip Social Club is open from noon and will be showing the Premiership game between Watford v Everton at 12:30 and post match Leicester City v Manchester City at 17:30.

Make sure you pick-up your match-day programme (£2.50) on your way-in to the stadium and your golden goals tickets (£1 a ticket, first goal wins £50 last goal wins £10).  Lynn Evans and her team will be serving hot food (burgers, chicken burgers, bacon and sausage rolls and fish finger rolls hot and cold drinks from the catering unit situated behind the WFC Megastore from 13.30. The Half-way Line tea bar will also be turning out hot & cold drinks and snacks from 14:15 throughout the afternoon.

Get behind the lads from the off, make plenty of noise for the 90+ minutes as we go in search of a place in the 2nd Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy on Saturday 14 January 2017.
