Preview – Maidenhead Utd @ The Vale – Mon 26 Dec

We welcome Maidenhead Utd to The Vale on Boxing Day (Mon 26 Dec)  for our latest Vanarama National League South fixture kick-off 13:30.

The Directors, players and staff of Wealdstone Football Club wish all our volunteers, supporters and followers a happy, healthy and enjoyable Christmas.

We look forward to 2017 and hope that it brings our great fans everything you wish for, on and off the pitch.

The Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor John Hensley and the Mayoress, Mrs Diane Hensley, will be in attendance at the game as part of the Mayor’s 2016/17 Charitable  Trust initiative, so make sure you bring plenty of loose change for the bucket collection.

Club organiser Carol Griffiths said: ‘We are delighted to be able to support the Mayor of Hillingdon’s charities at one of our biggest games of the season and to do it in such festive style. The charity appeal celebrates the theme ‘Journey through Life’. Christmas is about giving and being together, so let’s do both while watching some great football and enjoying the fabulous atmosphere Wealdstone FC are known for.

Also make sure you wear your Christmas jumper to the game as there will be an award for the best and worst on show!

Details of how you can make a donation if you are unable to attend the Boxing Day game can be found HERE

A big thank you to our two Match Sponsors – Martin Seacombe and Anthony Cole-Johnson & family plus three Match Ball Donation(s) from Alan Couch (In Memory of my brother Roy) , Catalyst Sports Management and The 1927 Club.

Our opponents are presently sitting on top of the pile with 52 points, 9 ahead of second placed St. Albans City and 14 ahead of Dartford who presently occupy the last play-off position. From their 21 games played they have won 16, drawn 4 and lost just once  (0-1 back in August at Poole Town) scoring 48 and conceding 13 goals. In their last League outing they turned over Dartford 5-0 at York Road.

The Stones management team and squad will be looking to build on the recent up-turn in form which has seen a run of 6 games without defeat, including the two FA Trophy ties against the Magpies with the Stones edging the replay to set-up an attractive tie in the 2nd Round away at National League Southport on Saturday 14 January.

With 21 games to go there are still lots of points to be won and lost over the second half of the season. Get behind the lads from the off, make plenty of noise for the 90+ minutes ………………….
