The Stones remain undefeated on the road this season and move into seventh position just a point off the play-off places, after goals from Omar Koroma, Danny Green and Eddie Oshodi sealed a superb 3-0 victory at Stortford’s ProKit Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.

All goals came from set-plays with Koroma prodding home in a goalmouth scramble from a corner, Green producing a fantastic free-kick from 25 yards and Oshodi heading in a Matty Whichelow corner.

Wealdstone totally dominated the first half and almost went ahead 75 seconds in when Koroma skipped past Paul Rodgers and crossed in for Benyon, but his header was expertly tipped over the bar by Joe Wright.

The keeper produced a similar save from Benyon 20 minutes later after some good link-up play with Jonny Wright. From the resulting corner Tom Hamblin nearly gave the visitors the lead but his header was blocked on the line.

Wealdstone made the hosts pay just before half time. Green whipped in a corner which was met by Oshodi, his effort was well stopped on the line by Wright before Koroma popped up to poke in the rebound.

It was 2-0 on 55 minutes. Jack Smith was scythed down by Rodgers just over 25 yards out, Green stepped up to take the resulting free-kick and whipped an exquisite curling effort into the top corner well out of Wright’s reach.

Green’s namesake Dominic almost produced a similar effort 11 minutes later but his free-kick was just over the bar with Jonathan North beaten.

It was almost 3-0 on 82 minutes when Oshodi produced an accurate through ball for sub Dylan Williams, but the tricky winger opted to square the ball to Benyon rather than shoot but the forward was denied by a last-ditch block from Tarik Moore-Azille.

From Whichelow’s corner, Oshodi nodded home to make it 3 to the delight of the travelling faithful.

Each side almost grabbed goals in injury time.  Stortford’s Sam Smith header produced a fine save from North and Elliott Godfrey had a thunderous effort from the edge of the area just flash wide.

WEALDSTONE: North, Smith, McLeod-Urquhart, Oshodi, Hamblin, Godfrey, Whichelow, Green (Hutchinson 85), Benyon, Koroma (Brown 74), Wright (Williams 80) Unused Sub: McGleish
