Wealdstone progressed to the last eight of the Middlesex Senior Cup at The Vale on Tuesday evening after a low key clash with local rivals Uxbridge of the Calor League.
The tie was deadlocked at 2-2 after the end of extra time with Stones goals coming from Luke Pigden (in normal time) and Chris Moore (in extra time). But with Uxbridge pulling level soon after Stones had taken the lead near the end of extra time, the tie was decided by penalties with Stones just edging matters with goals from Sean Cronin, Jey Siva, Elliot Godfrey, Jonny Wright. Luke Bartlett, Stone’s ‘keeper, saved two of the visitors spot kicks atoning for an earlier mistake that gifted The Reds their first goal.
Wealdstone have been drawn away to AFC Hayes in the next round.
