Margate at The Vale Sat 5th Oct KO 3.00pm
High-flying Wealdstone welcome Margate to The Vale on Saturday afternoon where they’ll be looking to maintain their unbeaten run when they take on their out-of-form opponents.
The Stones are without defeat in their thirteen games in all competitions this season, and while too many draws would be the sole black mark against an otherwise faultless start, they should be confident of keeping up the pressure on those above them with victory this weekend.
Margate have suffered a recent dip in form after a bright opening to the campaign, and the visitors travel to Ruislip having picked up just one win in seven, losing their last three.
Wealdstone come into this encounter off the back of a 4-1 FA Cup victory over Haringey Borough last Saturday. Goals either side of the interval from forward Scott McGleish were added to late on by the bright Tom Pett and a Peter Dean overhead kick, to ensure The Stones are just two wins away from terrestrial television.
Margate crashed out of the FA Cup last weekend when they were beaten by Dulwich Hamlet at Hartsdown Park. The Kent outfit let slip a half-time lead, courtesy of a Charles Ademeno penalty, to lose the tie 2-1, and end the match with ten men after George Whitelock’s sending off.
Glen Little is likely to play some part for the hosts, after not being involved in the last four games.
Gordon Bartlett’s side will have to be wary of forward Phil Walsh, the striker is The Gate’s top marksman this season, having netted on six occasions..
Admission is £10 Adults, £5 Concession and £2 under 16’s. If you are a Season Ticket holder of another club (except our opponents of course) entry is just £5 on production of your ticket at the turnstile.
On Monday night, 7th Oct, we are at home again when we welcome Hendon for a Ryman League Cup 2nd Round game kick-off 7.45.
