Shabazz Baidoo signs for Stones

Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett has offered Baidoo, 26, the opportunity to return to match fitness and re-launch his football career having been out of the game for a while

As a youngster, Baidoo was on Arsenal’s books but burst onto the scenes during an injury crisis for Ian Holloway’s QPR team towards the end of the 2004/05 season. He made his debut aged just 16 and his pace and skill immediately caught the eye. The following two seasons saw Baidoo feature more regularly, scoring 4 goals and making numerous substitute appearances and several starts.

In January 2008, Baidoo left QPR and immediately joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a deal that lasted until the end of the 2007 08 season. In September 2008 he joined the then Conference side Lewes and then in October 2008 he moved to Croydon Athletic.

Baidoo made his debut for the Stones as a substitute during the East Thurrock United home match but is currently recovering from a hamstring injury.
