Next Up – Lewes FC @ The Vale

This Saturday sees Wealdstone welcome Lewes to The Vale, in what is another vitally important and very tough Ryman Premier game for Stones.

Wealdstone will be looking to continue their impressive recent form which has seen them lose just once in the previous 19 games, having also trounced Wingate & Finchley 5-0 in their last outing. Stones have been handed a further boost with the news that Watford loanees Connor Smith and Britt Assombalonga have extended their loan deals for a further month. Both players have been influential in recent weeks, with Assombalonga having already netted eight times in just nine games during his time at the club.

Having been relegated from the Conference South last season, Lewes have so far performed  well under manager Steve King and find themselves in fourth place, four points behind pacesetters Billericay Town. The Sussex side do however come into this match off the back of a disappointing result against bottom placed side Horsham on Monday, with an injury time strike from Kery Kedze denying The Rooks all three points.

The encounter between the sides earlier in the season was a feisty affair, with a penalty from Nic Ciardini being the only goal of the game as Lewes ran out narrow winners. Stones had a chance to level the game late on with a penalty of their own; however Richard Jolly’s effort was saved by Lewes ‘keeper Liam Mitchell. Saturday’s tie is sure to be an entertaining match up as Stones look to reverse that defeat and aiming to keep in touch of the top five.

Admission is priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Premier & Football League Club supporters
admitted half-price by showing their current season ticket at the gate (offer does not apply to fans of the opposition).

Kick-off 3pm at The Vale.
