Hitchin Town 0 – 0 Wealdstone

0 - 0

Wealdstone did well to draw 0-0 with Hitchin Town after they were reduced to ten men just before half-time. With 42 minutes played Chris O’Leary was adjudged to have fouled a Hitchin player when going for the ball and in the skirmish that followed James Gray stupidly got involved. It is believed he head butted an opponent. As a result the referee showed him the red card and Chris O’Leary was shown a yellow.
In the 75th minute Hitchin were awarded a penalty but Luke Woods, who had a very good game, saved it low down to his right just inside the post. We came closest to scoring during the match hitting a post and crossbar in the first half and Lee Chappell hitting the bar in the second half. Near the end Ben Alexander hit a fine shot that was heading into the goal when it struck a Hitchin defender full in the face and knocked him out.
